Rev. Randal K. Lubbers

“Gratitude is the heart of a compassionate, contemplative, authentic life.”

Pastor Randy is an “Iowa boy” who has served in Minnesota for over thirteen years as a minister of Word and sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He is a graduate of the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (M.Div. 2004) where he served as Seminary Choir director and was awarded the Rural/Small Church Ministry Scholarship and the VanDerZyl Preaching Prize. He was ordained in the Reformed Church in America on June 14, 2004.

Randy’s ministry interests include spirituality and prayer; social action and peacemaking; pastoral care; leadership of worship and the sacraments; ecumenism and interfaith dialogue; and preaching and teaching. Some of the ordinary things which make his heart sing include books, coffee, laughter, family road trips, writing, baseball played on real grass, singing, vegetarian lasagna, asparagus, the Iowa State Fair, corn dogs, milk and cookies, chili on a cold day, friends and family, music, art museums, basketball, tennis, bicycling, jazz and classical music, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Carole King, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, cooking Italian food, and taking long hikes in the woods.

Randy is the father of John, Elyse, and Luke; widowed husband of Carolyn, who died from ovarian cancer on June 4, 2009; a friend of coffee shops and breakfast cafes everywhere; and he truly loves hearing others’ stories, especially from those surprising, diverse, and delightful folk he meets at coffee shops and breakfast cafes!

"And it is still true, no matter how old you are—when you go out into the world,
it is best to hold hands and stick together"
(R. Fulghum).

Chery White - Administrative Assistant

Everybody knows it's the administrative assistants who run the world.  Though our Administrative Assistant, Chery White is new to us, she is no exception to that rule.  She is in charge of all our publications including "The Steeple", service bulletins, and the Annual Report just to mention a few.  She handles general church correspondence and maintains the church records.  She is our chief accountant and takes care of creating the checks our Treasurer needs to sign.  But she truly enjoys the variety of work required by her job

Steve Walker - Custodian

Steve Walker joined the Church staff in 1995 as our custodian.  In addition to keeping the Church neat and tidy, he helps set up for special services such as weddings and funerals.  Steve takes great pride in his work.  His greatest satisfaction is walking out of the Church on Sunday afternoon, knowing it is ready for another week of activity.

Steve and his wife have two sons, Shane and Seth.  A mini dachshund named Gus rounds out the family.

Steve is a true nature lover.  He has several bird feeders in his yard and loves to watch the wide variety of birds attracted to them.  Not only does he work hard to keep the Church neat and clean, he loves to spend time working around his house and yard.
